Adjustable gas struts, also known as variable force gas struts, can be used for applications where the force needed for the application is unknown. You can easily adjust the pressure to suit your application. They are also great if you are working on a new project. Our adjustable gas struts come in the following maximum force ratings: ● 700N ● 1200N ● 2400N The force can be adjusted by releasing the pressure, which allows you to find the correct force for your application. You can release the pressure from the grub screw on the neck of the gas strut using a 2mm Allen key. How to adjust your adjustable gas struts? 1. Insert the Allen key in the grub screw. 2. Turn counter clockwise to open gently for a second at a time. 3. Test the gas status in the application. 4. If needed, repeat until enough pressure has been released. How to measure the gas strut length? If you are replacing an old strut, you must measure the original length from the center-to- center of the end fittings. If this is a new application, measure the length between the mounting points for your gas strut. How do I know if enough pressure is released? Only release gradually and test after each small release. Don’t overdo it. If the application feels too stiff, release some more pressure. You will know the gas struts work correctly, once the gas struts run smoothly. What end fittings will I need? If you are replacing, simply select your current end fittings.
