The wax residue shows up as a black grime on the sponge. The alcohol provided is cleaning grade 99.9% isopropyl alcohol and contains almost zero water. This means that it will immediately evaporate and leave zero film or residue on your rims. Once you’ve wiped down each rim with the alcohol, follow the instructions for installing your RimBlades or RimSavers.
